Empowering Kids through Educatio Youth Entrepreneurship Workshops
Join us and our Educatio resident artists for a youth workshop series that aims to pair students with local artists and makers to develop cool and useful products to keep and sell. We will create a positive impact within the community by showing what kids can do together, and by donating a portion of their proceeds to local nonprofits and community organizations.
Dates
Session 1: Fridays, March 1, 8, 15, 22 | 9AM - 3PM
Session 2: Fridays, March 29, April 5, 12, 19 | 9AM - 3PM
Session 3: Fridays, May 10, 17, 24, 31 | 9AM - 3PM
Program Format
Youth Entrepreneurs will embark on a four-week journey to design and create four unique items, such as printed t-shirts, candles, notebooks, jewelry, framed artworks, and wooden bow ties. They have the opportunity to learn various techniques such as screen printing, block printing, painting, embroidery, woodworking, leatherwork, sewing, and molding. After completion, the items will be sold in stores, online, and at the Farmers Market, and potentially other creative outlets as determined by our students. We plan to donate a portion of the proceeds to a local charity voted on by our students, with a different charity highlighted for each product and session. Three four-week sessions are planned for Spring 2024, each featuring different product sets, so we strongly encourage interested students to sign up for all three sessions!
This Workshop is limited to 10 students, ages 7-14. Drop ins may be available in the event of a planned absence from one or more of the full-time students. Email us if you are interested in being on the waitlist for drop ins. Programming will be split into morning (9-12) and afternoon (12-3) workshops – email us for half-day rates and availability.
Pricing
Per Session: $240 for 4 Fridays ($160 for half days)
Drop-In: $75 / Day

Allison Vicenzi, VICENZI Design & Repairs @vicenzi.design
Allison Vicenzi works with natural materials and dyes to make, remake/upcycle and customize clothing and other textile products. She practices and teaches design & sewing in Livingston, currently instructing K-8 students at Educatio. Her passion for creative reuse motivates her to continue finding innovative ways to repurpose existing items and materials in her process, and look towards the future where industries are more localized, regenerative, and zero-waste by design. She holds a business degree from the University of Notre Dame and an Industrial Sewing & Production certification from ISAIC, Industrial Sewing and Innovation Center, the national sewn goods manufacturing and training nonprofit based in Detroit.
Allison is excited to collaborate with students in this course to create beautiful, useful items and find ways to bring those items to a wider audience – in Livingston and around the USA!
