We are calling any kids ages 5th-10th grade to help us with this community project. You'll take it from site assessment to completion learning math and building skills, do some "fun-draising," and create something we can all be proud of that adds to the beauty of the neighborhood, and is safe to use!
Jeff Purcell is going to lead the group with the help of Tom Baskett and others.

Our program has two main goals!
1. LOVE OF LEARNING!
We want to give kids in our community more opportunities to a) become strong readers; b) build confidence and skills in math and science foundations through applied learning -using the world around us; and c) create meaningful impact for our community.
2. HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS!
We aim to provide our community with opportunities to build Positive Childhood Experiences (PCE)s.
Spending time together actively participating in creativity and learning together builds relationship and connection. Research shows that PCEs happen around food, family, and fun!
PCEs can act as a buffer against the health effects of trauma, which we have ALL experienced.
The relationship between PCEs in childhood and good mental health in adults is dose-responsive; the more PCEs a child gets, the better their adult mental health is likely to be.
The 7 PCEs are:

Families First was based on the foundation of a consultation program for parents and families that was brought to life by John Sommers-Flanagan. These consultations provide individualized support to help families navigate obstacles within their family system. The foundation of our approach stems from the idea that all parents love their children. Our goal is to give families from any background access to practical help with any family issue in a confidential, solution-focused setting.
